Red Alox Wenger Watch Opener, found somewhere that had this as brand new old stock! No branding either, unlike many of these models:

Picked up this Patagonia S18.  My first yellow scale!

Cool snag!

Here's (finally) some pics of the Harvester I received last week:

Very nice, always love to see the pruning blade!

Picked up this well used 84mm.  I'm a sucker for the bale.  Any idea about what date this is?
Is that a wire stripper blade on the bottle opener?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd bet dollars to donuts it is, but cannot find any date range for when the bottle opener contained the "wire scraper" feature. The bail places it before the mid-1960's and the awl pre-1961 which sets an upper end. The question then for dating it is when various features were introduced to set the lower end of its age.

John
Interesting. Maybe it was a mod that someone did sometime earlier in its life? I've never seen this model of bottle opener before

The bottle opener contained the wire stripper between 1951 and the early '80s
See the SAAMS blog - which contains some really useful tool dating images.
Links to this blog (and to the Vic info sheet from Urs Wyss, from where I think sakhome.com got a lot of his information) are in the 'Tools' section of SAKWIKI - at the bottom of the page.

An exact date for Aloha's SAK has already been suggested in this post above...
.......... No exposed rivets - Which would put it after 1960 - So I think we can say this knife was made sometime in 1961. Old awl but no visible rivets.
As we believe both those changes happened that year - But not at the same time - There are quite a few knives around like this

This thread on MTo:  ..... Something to help you date your Vic SAKS... is also pretty useful for dating your SAKs!!   ;)  :o  :)

I looked at sakhome.com - There is a lot of good information there - But almost too much to assimilate  >:(
- The table in the thread above is much better for dating !!  :tu:
Thanks for the info! It's always cool to see different iterations of sak tools
