So earlier in the thread I posted the seller's pic of some knives I had just bought, one of which (91mm golfer with combo tool) appeared to have a metal headed pen. Well mystery solved. The previous owner had fabricated a custom "pokey stick". Did a pretty good job too.

I need to sterilize this thing but I think it's pretty cool especially for SAKs without an awl.

I wonder if one of the ballpoint pens will fit in that fabricated spot.
Pretty nice mod actually.

Its just regular plus scales with a pen slot. So a pen would fit..

But..these scales are shot. I like the little poker though!

I wish. Sorry to get you guys/gal salivating. It's an explorer. If I'm gonna carry a SAK with some other dudes name on it, it had to at least have a cool name. Now I'm thinking it needs an a added to the end.  :(

I was gonna go with Eric the explorer, but it doesn't have the same ring to it. Also, it reminds me of Dora. A time in my kids life that I'm glad we're past.

Eric, from a Google search on the meaning of the name, "From the Old Norse name Eiríkr, derived from the elements ei "ever, always" and ríkr "ruler". "
Kinda cool!
That font is nice as mentioned before.

THAT CRAZY!
Whats the deal? why is it sooooo expensive to ship items overseas? ???
My secret Santa gift cost me $28 just to ship it out of USA , last years cost me $48(diff friend/country) - both 1-3 ounces over 1 pound. CRAZY!  :o :bnghd:
1 pound in USA to USA usually runs around $4  :bnghd:

Even crazier when you compare it to the shipping prices we pay on stuff from China.  Sometimes the shipping from China is less than it would cost me to send the same item to the next town.
I get the feeling that our international shipping costs are subsidising those of the Chinese exporters.  The international postal treaty specifies that the source country keeps the revenue from international post.  So the last stage of delivery of an imported item, from the port of entry to your address, is effectively done for free by your country's postal operator, and they have to recoup the cost of that by charging you more for your exported packages.
AGREED = CRAZINESS  :cheers: :D
Yeah odd how that China agreement works and how I can buy an item for .25 cents and it cost a China resident to ship to USA for .10 cents  :to: :bnghd:
cheapest rate for me to ship USA to USA = $2.60(letter stamp is .what? 45 cents now= crazy)  and I have to print the label and package myself!

LISTEN UP USPS - I NEED TA SHIP WEAPONS AN POKEY SHARP THANGS CHEAPER TO MY FRIENDS HERE AN ABROAD!!!      :climber:

Please excuse the lousy photo, this is my newest and I wanted to show it off. It's an older climber I hooked on the bay for a whopping $15.00. It has the grooved corkscrew and screw head pivot on the scissors. It's in great shape, obviously wasn't used much.

EDIT: I accidently lied...smooth corkscrew...oh well at least we have the same name
