Got this Standard on the way...  I was pretty certain it didn't have anything to do with BSA (as indicated in ad) but the engraving intrigued me so I did a little research.  It turns out the the VASV is the Verband Aargauischer Schützenveteranen.  This is from the Swiss canton of Aargau and I'm unclear whether the Verband Schützveteranen is a shooting club or for Swiss military veterans.  With my limited knowledge of German I think the translation would be Association of Aargau Protection Veterans.  I'm sure there is a better translation.  Anyway, I'm wondering if this is to commemorate a 75 year partnership between Victorinox and Aargau.    Maybe one of our Swiss, German, or Austrian members can help me out.....

That's a capital idea!   :tu:  I've been looking through old threads and have found a couple discussing inlays but not from this angle, more "unique" and differences in the inlays of the various Fishermans, Campers, Grand Prix etc.  I'd like to see one dedicated to non-standard emblems, advertisements and the what not that are the old-style inlays.  It'd be cool to see what people have out there and how far we can go back.   Stay tuned.

Got back from our trip to London. There were some nice things waiting for me in the mailbox :mail:

Top one is the official knife for the German border police (Bundesgrenzschutz).

The blue one is a Master Craftsman issued in the Dutch Royal Air Force.

Mail call yesterday, and only one more inbound.
I am trying to focus on a pare down, we'll see how long that lasts.

So what arrived?  A boxed Camper!!!!
An XLT that the ad said was a Cybertool, but apparently not.
The yellow knife below is a Compact, I bought a Spartan for the scales.  I was having a hard time finding reasonably priced yellow scales, so getting them this way was more affordable.
A small two blade horn handled knife:

Those are great finds! If there was a coolest find of the week award you would win it.

Jeep the SAK of the auto world or is it SAK the Jeep of the Knife world?
