Here it is pictured by its Settler brother

Evogrip 11, build quality is very good, obviously Victorinox is bringing Wenger's QC up a couple of notches.

 Fingers crossed, on the way from a seller that clearly doesn't sell many SAKs. It was listed as a "Classic Swiss Army Knife"

Oh, what is that? A box?

Nondescript, descript box

Well wouldn't you know! A Champion!
That's my second this month!

Boxed Champion c

And it's in pretty good mint condition too!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this box at a militaria fair. I opened it, saw at a glance it was a Champion and asked for the price... €5,-!
Well, that was a done deal I can tell you! I can't believe how quickly I payed that guy!

Champion c

Its not as old as my other one. This one has the fluted screwdriver, but also a reamer with sewing eye. So, probably 1987-1990?
But the condition is most surprising, it still has that factory-oily-smell. And the booklet is included too. The box and insert suffered some damage though. But still a very nice deal if you ask me!

Dating tools

Now I also have a Gen1b magnifier! Two down, two to go!

@ Mactire: Awesome score, Buddy!  :tu:

@El Corkscrew: Sweet Cadet.  :tu:  I gotta ask though, is this your first Cadet? For some reason I thought you weren't a big fan of the Cadet. Maybe I'm confused though; it's still early here and I haven't finished my coffee.

Definitely prefer the Pioneer/Soldier but the Cadet has grown on me... I EDC a silver one every once in a blue moon and have always thought these older ribbed alox Cadets with a small blade instead of file were neat. Still feel like the many different colors with crazy prices are a little silly but... you know....  any SAK is a good SAK  :D

And to answer your question... I've gone through many Cadets... buying them used then trading and whatnot.
