Got these trading with a friend.  :tu:

1983 Battle of Morgarten. First knife of seven released from the 1983-91 Swiss Battle Series. #5069.

Based on Spartan with awl without sewing eye, grooved CS, cap lifter without 90deg lock, and no key ring or tweezer/toothpick slots. Supplied in wooden presentation box and numbered certificate. Has nice battle scene silver inlay and etching on blade.

Also 1987 Swiss Champ. This is the less common first generation SC with the narrow pliers that have the smooth pivot joint. Came as part of a complete SOS kit, although after 30+ years the synthetic pockets under the flaps have deteriorated, which is a common problem.

SC needed major cleaning as the oil had dried, and the scales needed quite a polish. The small blade has lost a bit of shape from sharpening, so I may put a new blade in.

Very cool! I just read about the battle of Morgarten. Very interesting read. Seems to have been a turning point for the way battles were fought, as well as chivalry. I guess the Knights that were slaughtered that day wouldn’t care about that though

Glowing Rainier Plus
The sapphire scales work with this Glow-On paint noticeably better than the emerald (and the ruby color won't allow the right light through to charge them at all).  I'll be carrying this with me from time to time now.  10-20 seconds of charge under a bright light and you'll still be seeing this in the dark over an hour later with the sapphire scales and the original, brightest color Glow-On.

Received in the post this morning.

This is the first Compact I’ve ever owned. I can see why so many people like it, though first impressions are that it is still a little too big to be my daily EDC.

I’m ashamed to say I bought in on Amazon, where it is literally half the price compared to the Victorinox website. Obviously I spent the saved money on...another SAK

I picked up a Recruit! Couldn’t resist. 84mm is my favourite size, and I really like the lack of backtools on the Recruit. I am also a fan of having a large and small blade on SAKs (I do a lot of carving and whittling.)

In fact, this would be in the running to be my EDC if...it had scissors.

Why oh why oh why can’t they make 84mm scissors?  :dunno:

I picked up a Recruit some years ago when I was firmly attached to my Alox Soldier.  I gave it away within a week or two, and to this day, I can't quite pinpoint why.
