Finally took the plunge and sacrificed an Explorer and Compact to make a Yeoman.
I have to say, I wasn’t sure at the beginning but I’m really pleased with the result.

Good work, Jud65! I did the same last year, I really like it, most of the functions of an explorer in a slimmer package! Enjoy!

Thanks Rizio :hatsoff:  The 3 layer is a sweet spot for me and the Compact one of my faves. With the P&M layer it is just about perfect.

It was my birthday and M’lady surprised me with an amazing present! This Cyber Tool 34!!!
I don’t know how she did it but she has managed to pick out the absolute perfect Swiss Army knife for me  :ahhh I am absolutely floored by this thing and its many capabilities. It is the perfect companion for my trusty EDC Explorer!

How did I ever live without this thing of beauty, versatility and functionality??!

That's really nice, Jud65!   :tu:

Funny enough, Steve, the Pliers are the first things to go when I’m thinking of modding. Never really found a use for them - and my first SAK was a Handyman so I’ve had plenty of time to make it work.  Also - 3 layers really is my sweet spot. I like this toolset.
Mildly frustrated at the moment as I’m doing the Pocket Rocket challenge so trying to hold off on carrying the Yeoman ‘til next month. Time to engage what Frank Herbert termed “Spannungsbogen” - the ability to put off to an indefinite future the desires of today…

To each his own. That's the beauty of modding.   :)

I'm also in the Pocket Rocket Challenge and keep wanting to reach for my Explorer or SwissChamp.   :(

Approx 30 year old Mountaineer (no hook, Vssr, screw in scissors, fluted corkscrew, Officier Suisse on tang)

Apart from a few scuffs on the scales in like new condition delivered to my door by the seller for about half the price of a new one, bargain! :D

Nice find!

The Mountaineer was my only SAK for ten years (until I meet MT.o).

Thanks Echo. Nice mountaineer. Wee question - how do rate the new metal saw vs the old? I read a lot of positive feedback hints about the aggressiveness of the new one here on MTO. Just interested in a personal insight.

Tbh I tend to just use the newer ones for jobs, most of my oldies are for the collection…I’ll have to have to do a test and get back to you

Another one for the mod 1908 collection, dated “P” version from 1942, with P on scales next to the WK stamp

Thanks Rizio, only a few more until I’ve all the main variations but they’re going to be harder to find …and not including E and W tang stamps …hmmm  maybe more than a few then  :tu:

Good luck with the search! I’m missing a Vic CCW stamp from my M61s, I only have a Wenger in the line up at the moment - it’ll be great when I do find one though! I’ll then have to think about a Wenger M61 line up too…..

:hatsoff: nice, my 61’s are a mixture, the older ones mainly vics, newer Wenger, will slowly try and get samples from both, no hurry, well done for doing it just with Vics :salute:

I’ll keep a look out for a Vic CCW WK for you

Unexpectedly received a SuperTimer in the post from an old friend yesterday. It's in good shape and I've given it a little TLC so it can join me from time to time in Nix's Go Big Challenge. Having never seen one in the flesh I'd missed the absence of tweezers.
