Very nice!
 :like:

I''ve got to ask - will it sit on a shelf as a collectible or will you carry it?

There is a challenge coming up...
 :pok:

It's for collection but I can definitely use it for a challenge. I would like to try that  :tu:

For some reason, I decided I needed yet another Explorer.

Maybe because I modded one to be my Deluxe Explorer?   :dunno:

Anyway, while searching eBay I found an Explorer Plus and just had to have it.

It arrived today.

c1980 Companion with corporate branding metal inlay

The 74mm Companion was the predecessor to the Executive, going back to the 1960's. It has the same tool set, only missing the key ring before these became commonplace.

The Companion traded names with the 58mm smooth Alox Executive in the late 70's when they both gained key rings. Why they swapped names is a bit of a mystery.

Well, even humans take each other's names, after exchanging rings...

I seem to have developed a sudden Swiss Card obsession... And I found somewhere that still had limited Quattros in stock. So of course I had to order it straight away.

The Compact was just so, y'know, the overall order seemed worthwhile.

NTSC lot of 4 Climbers eventually arrived (our Post Office notoriously slow)

All Crossbow tang, pre-hook, grooved SC  :woohoo:  Some will go into builds, nothing planned yet...

New Ranger and Cybertool. The former because I can’t seem to resist Rangers, the latter because I thought it was a large and it turned out to be a medium - still a fantastic deal but a little disappointing.

Now can someone please convince me to make a Cyber Compact? I have all the bits ( aCompact going begging and this CT) and the desire, just lacking the will to pull these pricey little pretties apart.

You so need to make a cyber compact. Guarantee you won’t regret it. One of my favorite mods.  :tu:

You have to make a Cyber Compact, everybody has one (actually I thought that making one was a prerequisite before joining this forum  :D). Now the real question is: are you in the "bit driver in the middle" or in the "bit driver on the side" camp?

That’s what I love about this place. You’re all a bunch of enabling enablers!  :D
There I was dithering about deconstructing 2 of the pricier SAKs just to make a dream come true and along come the MTF enablers, first encouraging (thanks again Pa), then insisting (thanks for that CT) that this had to happen. So happen it has!

The picture hopefully makes it obvious that I’m a “bit driver in the middle” kind of guy. Although it puts the nail kick of the knife a wee bit out of reach…

Oh, and by the way, I love this little beauty…

That is a very intriguing SAK, Jud65. Great job! Looks nearly perfect for urban EDC - though I'd add a mag glass and inline Phillips layer. I need the mag glass these days.   :(

Here is the secret to the nail nick by the cyber driver. Apply a little pressure down on the cyber tool driver and you’ll find it much easier to open the scissors. Let me know how it works out for you. Great mod by the way.  :tu:
