Thanks, SteveP.
I'm not in a rush.  I've got a Wenger, that was given to me, I think it's the Tool Kit, or something.  WAY to big to be useful.  Don't need/want a compass, saw, fish scaler, etc.
Has the same locking mechanism.
I'll be looking forward to your impressions.
PitCarver, if you're still thinking about an S557, I've completed the Daredevil Challenge with mine. You can read about the highs and lows here:

I never thought I'd be posting a picture of this SAK.  Picked it up today from a friend.  It was bought by her used however  it was "too big" to carry however she did use it ( main blade ).

:salute:  Thank you.  I put a fresh battery in and the clock works.  There is a small crack on the face of the clock along the edge.  Its not too bad but it there.  I was pretty happy to get one so  :tu:

That is a nice one, indeed. Hopefully you can get the crack in the clock face dealt with appropriately.

I've just picked up a couple of Bantams. The silver Alox is of pretty recent manufacture, the blue Cellidor less so. Both also have their boxes. These will be collected rather than carried.

My latest SAK?

I'm honestly not sure at the . moment.

My doctor said I have a case of "Covid Confusion"  after my covid diagnosis.

As soon as I get me some foglights, to get me through the brain fog, perhaps I'll remember.

Welcome, maxdog! You can definitely get your fill of SAK info and stories here. Enjoy!
 :tu:

Steve P, Kottskrapa, Echotech, Rizio II Ghiro, Pfrsantos:  Thanks everyone for the warm welcome earlier!

Yesterday I visited my local knife shop, House of Knives, in Canada and they had a nice Victorinox section with demo models available to check out.  Went looking for something compact for urban EDC.  Asked about the Midnite Manager but none in stock, but came home with another one that really interested me, the Compact.  Has the same thin 2 layer profile as my trusty old Recruit that was my EDC for years, but packed with many more features.  I slipped the pen under the parcel hook, and been writing a lot with it.  It's all so practical with so many features efficiently packed into the thin and light profile, and really great to have scissors and pen.   And the multi tool works on Philips heads too, as I used it to tighten some philips screws around the house.    :like:

Will have to put the Midnite Manager on my Christmas wish list.

Here is my new Compact next to my Evolution S17:   :climber:

Great choices. For quite some time now, I EDC a Midnite Manager. More than enough for my needs.

Great choices max, love those Compacts! Light, discreet, and very useful toolset.

I just got this Evogrip S18 during a surpise gift box exchange on another thread. Psyched because I have been thinking about getting one for a while and just haven't found the excuse to pull the trigger.  The locking blade is awesome, the ergonomics are nice, and the rubber inlays all make this little knife feel good. It's my first Evo. Life is good!

Hey Farmer X, hope you get someting cool from Your box!  :woohoo:

Congrats on the new Compact! It's a beauty.

It'll be interesting to hear what you think of the non-serrated vs. serrated scissors.
