My last SAK was a Victorinox Soldier 1993.

So another achievement of the collection:

✅ 09/27/2021 - All variations of the Soldier’s knife - model 1961 (reference: website "Les couteaux du soldat de l'armée suisse").

In fact, I think I'm adding a variation to the list: variation 6a (variation 6 with keyring - produced for the civil market such as variation 4a).

Picked up this Cowboy model My first 111mm! I’m thinking this is an early one. Any guesses as to the age or year?
It’s got the can key on the Phillips and the tang stamp says Pat Pend Mod Dep.

Really liking the slim profile of this one layer forgot I was carrying it earlier today. It’s in pristine almost new condition so this SAK may end up being a bit of a Boxed Diva
I’m already thinking of picking up a Sentinel. Because... well why not?

A Dendrologist, a Scientist with an added wood saw and stained birch scales.

Was it a sensible modification? Not really, an Explorer, Compact, Camper and custom scales for a three layer knife and a box of bits.

Will I use it? Probably not.

Why then? It was fun to do and I like it.

Latest is a Ranger, which is my thickest and heaviest SAK so far. What's the pouch that's the best fit for the Ranger?

I prefer thin and light, but if I bond with this one I may need to try a Champ next.

It's still listed in the latest catalog though, I don't think it's being retired :tu:

Might as well order a champ right now,  a ranger is just an incomplete swisschamp

I'm saying that this MAY be my last MiniChamp.  I've got more than I can use.

However, if I see one that has some unusual scales or if I find some cool scales to add, I might have to make an exception.

Anyway, my new Alox MC came in today and I'm quite pleased.

I've been carrying a MC, along with a Cadet and AAA flashlight in a pouch, for some time now.  Love my MiniChamps.

Helluva trio  :salute:.  I was and am still very fond of my MC.  While I slimmed down to a Manager some years ago for my actual EDC I love carrying my MC while at home and quick jaunts about town.  I never feel under equipped nor like I'll be ejected from anywhere within reason.  I also really like trying each tool giving them a chance to surprise and surprise they do.

I have an older one without the philips and man how do I love that little phillips.  As a result it doesn't get carried as often.

I like the MiniChamp, too. There's a tremendous amount of utility in that fairly small package. Both of mine are MK I models; one has seen some use, and the other was removed from its clam-pak only this year. The Alox ones keep reminding me that one of them needs to come into my life.

My first 58mm was a rambler.
I was reluctant to try something so small but found out how handy it was, ESPECIALLY the phillips.  Out of all my MCs I've only got one mod 1 because of the lack of the phillips.
