The way I look at it with the controversial new model--there's the occasional chance you'll find a rough used one for $100 or less (or near junk for even less); but your chances of finding an original Officer's and Sports Knife are pretty slim, so I'd just go with the repop.

I went with the only M1908 I have seen in the US in several years (and even now, I have only seen Swiss sellers offering them since), which had a worn blade and badly deteriorated fiber handles.  I guess it will cost me probably more than the $100 an M1908 with a decently full blade would've cost by the time I get a new blade put in and the scales replaced to make it usable.

:mail: Just arrived today my first Solider - an almost pristine ‘93 Wenger. I’m delighted with this and even nicer that it was a Father’s Day present from my daughter and my Mrs. I could resign this to the collectors draw but just feel that this one is much better off in the pocket being put to use daily.

It’s a 1993 model. Coincidentally the birth year of my stepson so it’s become a heirloom piece already!!   :)

Swissair branded Wenger. Bought from a seller in Japan. No box, but looks pretty much mint to me. 20+ years old?

A new Vic Ranger and some red linen Micarta scales for it. Also, a pocket clip for my Spirit.

Harvester with added keyring in beautiful red alox.

I know that adding keyring may sound like a blasphemy to many of you, but I find SAKs without a keyring somehow incomplete .
Current SAKs:
58mm - Rambler, Alox Minichamp, SwissLite
84mm - Waiter, Alox Bantam
91mm - Cybertool M, Swisschamp
111mm - Forester Wood, Tradesman
other - Baker's, Floral

I don't have a good picture of it yet but my latest SAK is a brand new Deluxe Tinker. I'm not sure it's really pocket friendly, but it's a really cool SAK.

Might make a better desk drawer SAK than an EDC though.

Key ring is a must have in my opinion, especially if you use a dangler. Nice knife

Nice video Sir
The Alox bantam in green sure is a beauty  :o

I’m wondering because of its size – how easily does it get lost in the pocket?
Do you just throw it in your main pocket or do you throw it in the coin pocket?

Thank you, good sir! :hatsoff:

I have no worries about the Bantam getting lost in my pockets. It gets carried in a dedicated pocket. No jeans for me anymore (at least not regularly), either. But I can see how it could get lost in a pocket. It's so slim that sometimes I don't notice it until I want to use it.

Oh, and I got yet another Bantam today. This one is an economy model, likely from the early 1980s. There are now eight Bantams in the horde (or is that hoard?).

I’m right with you on this. The exact same reason I have an Electrician Plus in my collection, that has never once been carried. The key ring is a must.

Appreciate the info it’s good to know because these look like great little back up knives that just slip into the pocket and you forget they’re there. That’s a nice 80s bantam great pictures

You're welcome, and thank you! A Bantam has on occasion served as my primary knife, too.
