The Eco scales would have looked better if Vic had just molded the nylon with a cross emblem like the Safari/Solo to begin with.  Nylon scales could be made quite attractive for any knife in the whole lineup.  Best wishes. Gary

      Isn't it nice to have friends who are willing to bail you out when you get swindled?  You pay big money for a knife, and find out that the big blade is broken completely off.  I don't blame you for complaining about it on the forum.  I would have been burned up about it too.
      The thing a man would do about it is admit you got taken.  Put the ruined old knife in with your collection and leave it there.  When people ask, you can tell them the story of how some unscrupulous seller took advantage of you.  I bet more of your friends would look at it than anything else you have. 
      Hats off to you, my friend.  You took it like a man.  If I find one of those kinds of knives at a flea market somewhere, I will mail it to you.  You could pay the postage, since it is overseas.  Best wishes and keep on trying.

Still can’t believe I found this gem!

Doesn't get much better than that (unless the blade was intact of course  ;)) but in any case I've never seen one like that before and the alox scales and the crab claw awl make for one beautiful package. If Vic wanted to replica any other classics in the future then they could do much worse than resurrecting this one. I for one would snap one up...if only they could do it for $42  :rofl:

Got my first 111mm a Workchamp. This is something else and will 100% be the go to for general house tool and camping/archery workhorse.  Great combination of tools and just on the right side of manageable size. I’ll be honest I have been toying with other multi tools such as my OG Leatherman Wave recently but, while toolset is similar, this wins hands downs (pliers are not my concern as you can tell) on comfort and general usability for me.

Still got my eye on a SOG Powerpint but would like to see one in the flesh as there seems to be some concerns over build quality on the mighty interweb.

      That 111mm is really my kind of knife, too.  I always have a pair of pliers handy in my truck, or just slide a small plier in my pocket.   Doesn't make sense for me to carry one everywhere.  I know others' requirements are different.

I got a quote, they will fix it for € 18 (about $ 19).

Now it’s up to me to decide if I want to risk shipping it. I think i’ll do it, pack it very decent and ship it fully insured (not that any insurance will really cover the loss of such a rare item but I suppose insured packages will get the best treatment?).

I guess it may be worth being very clear with them that it’s only the blade you want replacing not anything else or you could end up with essentially a new knife…I’ve seen some very thorough refreshes back from Vic so just thought it was worth mentioning….should look great though and I believe they often  send the old bits back too…might be worth asking them
to do that too though to b sure. €18 is a fantastic service charge.
