Just received and tuned this new-to-me Climber RT!
Too bad Victorinox did not continued developing the Soft Touch scales, as they give such a nice tactile  stimuli, as well as apparently vastly improving the grip over regular cellidor ( and I would guess even over nylon ones). And what a surprise it was to find the straight pin hole in the back scale too!

Here’s an interesting mod.  The seller called it a Deluxe Climber Slim.

Layer 1:  large blade, small blade, corkscrew

Layer 2:  pliers

Layer 3:  scissors, hook w/ nail file

No key ring attachment

That's an interesting one for sure.  Not often you see a full-size SAK with no screw-driving capability.  A combo tool and/or backside Philips would be my preference.

Thank you. It was a lucky find - I was not looking for the Jubilee series specifically, but when I came across it for a reasonable price, I could not resist.

Long time no see... since my last entry I have acquired some new (to me) SAKs:

An ecoline waiter, dated between 1994 - 2005,  an ecoline watchcase opener dated between 1994 - 2005, an ambassador, with screwed scissors, an esquire (don't know how to date it)

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

a Forrester M Grip brand new

an economy bantam dated between 1984 - 1986

Thank you guys! I also love the blue nylon waiter. It's branded on the other side, and I paid the same price as for a brand new cellidor one just to have a blue nylon waiter. The search continues for a mint, unbranded blue one :)

Finding a blue one without a logo could be a long and arduous process. Unless it absolutely has to have left the factory with blue no-logo scales, a scale swap may be a better way to go.

Just got this beautiful old Bantam (or Bantam II)?). This is my first Alox Bantam and I can't get over how thin it is. I can't even tell it's in my pocket. Anyone have any guesses about what time period it's from?

Nice one psyjohn!

Farmer X, yes, a blue nylon scale waiter seems to be pretty rare without any branding and i wonder why. It's a somewhat popular sak and I imagine there had to be a time when you could find it readily available.

It has the first iteration of the combo tool (sorta blunt tip, sharper hook, and flat top). My guess would be early to mid 1980s. Whenever it was made, it's a stellar SAK!

Received today my second Victorinox made OHO GAK
Blade has some dents but its sharp, one corner had bent liner but it was easy fix.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I wanted second OHO GAK cause model i have lacks serrations cause previous owner didnt seem to like those and blade is over sharpened pretty much that blade itself has come maybe halfway

Hello!

This just rolled in :). Something that perplexes me in a joyful way! A Climber small! A weird one, but my one and only 84mm SAK with scissors.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Please help me date this FrankenSAK because I don't know how to even start :)

It has a modern big blade with VSMS1 and OS tang stamps, a screwed pair of scissors, no half-stop for the cap lifter, a grooved corkscrew, and a mid-80s style can opener with the larger scoop. The SAK seems to be brand new; the scales have an inlaid shield WITH the straight pin hole, and the only visible brass pin on the inside is nice and shiny. There is no keyring nor an eye for it and the reamer has no sewing-eye.
Here is a picture of the can opener scoop of this Climber small (left) in comparison with my 2011 Recruit (right):

And finally, a comparison with my old trusty Climber (dated 1991 to 2001):

That is a first-class sheath also.  I like the idea of having something to renew an edge along with the knife.  Best wishes.  G
