Nice scales - But when you say "Last year's pattern" - Is this a series? Which is it?

Special edition for SKS: https://www.swissknifeshop.com/products/victorinox-kaleidoscope-tinker-designer-swiss-army-knife

And a beautiful one too :dd:
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Not an annual release, just part of the entire collection that is unique to this reseller only.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Been hunting a small climber for a few years, refusing to go the ebay route.  Stumbled into one at the  TSA property store.  Now I just need to find a replacement blade that is period correct (thought I had one, but no luck), and work on getting the scissors working properly on things besides paper.    I'm in no rush and am going to keep looking for a less old one that I wont feel bad carrying.

That one looks like it is solidly in the used category anyway.  I wouldn’t feel in the least bad about carrying it if you want to.

I've been thinking about that too, it's for sure seen heavy use, the amount of the main blade that has been sharpened away is pretty bad.  I'm considering just shipping it in for service and letting Vic replace the blade and scissors, and freshen it up as much as possible, but I'm not sure how they handle knives with bales.

I think this is a solid plan.

I would include a note that says something to the effect that the knife has sentimental value to you (which in a way is true, even though you only recently acquired it), and you want YOUR knife back, even if it can’t be repaired; you do NOT want a new similar knife.

Perhaps someone else has sent in a knife with a bail and can comment specifically on that?

My latest two, apparently took the scenic route to reach me!

Oh so worth the wait! :hatsoff:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Both are textured, a SPARTAN and a TINKER 91.

Now thinking the ZEBRA and LEOPARD  maybe with the effort.

The KALEISCOPE pictures really do not doo it justice.

Hi LC, there are yearly editions, limited to 150 pieces. Last year was a 'Moonrise Mountaineer', and this year was the 'Kaleidoscope Tinker Deluxe'. The patterns can be bought on non-limited-edition models (like your beautiful Kaleidoscope Tinker) as well, but the ones that I'm talking about are actually a limited edition (only 150 pieces made per year) SAK. I'll take some more photos so people can see what I mean.

Edited to add a (bad) photo of the 'Small Batch' 2026 Kaleidoscope Tinker Deluxe.

I feel sorry for the person that had this knife confiscated at the TSA though.

Agreed.

Here's today's find, 84mm Tourist, bale, clip blade, 5 turn corkscrew, rounded reamer, pat can opener and flathead with the sharpened section.  She's dirty but in amazing condition. I'll post another picture after some cleaning and polishing.

Thank you for clarifying.     When o received the email announcing this years limited run, yes, I fell for the design.  What did not add up was the price
Point as the DELUX is normally $68 Aanc was unable to determine previous limited runs. A MOON RISE
MOUNTAIN CLIMBER was revealed, and SOLD OUT.   Was not aware of the MOUNTAINEER!

Per your certificate this is the second release.   Even though all of the designer series are listed as exclusives to Swiss Knife Shop.

Being special I was very surprised when I found the TINKER (91mm) listed with new scales at a normal price so I jumped on it.   Along with the TIGER scales on a SPARTAN (my favorite).

If you have the Mountaineer and now the Tinker DELUX congratulations for hitting two for two. 😊
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!
