Technicician, Cadet from Denmark and a Pioneer from the lastest special run. Another Pioneer is on the way.

(Image removed from quote.)

I like that Pioneer with red scales and black shield :tu:

An '85 soldier can't be that rare, if anyone has one let me know...   :D

Yes I know I've gone and dated myself here, but a wife and two kids tend to grow you right up!

Thanks, enki. Will watch.
I also need a 72 for my gf. Are they rare?

Apparantly yes!Wenger made them that year, but it was an uber short run. I'd even be happy with a 72 DAK!

How about '78, are they rare?  I never hear of any ???

The '78 is not that rare at all yet.
I picked one up in new shape a while back.
The '72 and '74 are indeed scarce as only Wenger made them from what I remember.
Still cannot believe someone paid $690 for a '73.  ::)

I feel so young reading this thread...   Though I'm surprised how easy it was to find my '92 DAK :)

They're out there, but many of them are the red "Grillon" handled Wengers which tend to sell for a lot of money:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/rare-WENGERINOX-SWISS-Army-Knife-1959-RED-Handle-/230927125162
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230640253633

I've seen a few Elseners floating around, too, but most tend to be Wengers.

I never notice them on eBay though, but I don't really know of many places to check.

Just a regular urban pioneer minus keyring today.  The stock nickel silver liners do sand and polish up nice though, to give it a little bling.   :tu:

I'm still not shure why they made a pink ranger, the 85mms might have been a good idea though

I believe this was my last Sak. A pinstripe spartan. It's so pretty I haven't carried it. It was a birthday present from my brother.

Pink Ranger:

Makes sense to me.

Anyway, my newest SAK is my Wenger Evo s18. I've always been a Huntsman fan, so a knife with a similar toolset plus a locking blade is just a party. Also, I've developed a serious relationship with the velociraptor-claw can opener, which makes a good package opener, and the Wenger-style awl, which makes an excellent pokey. An awful lot of things need poking.

Granted, I've had this knife since November, but I've never posted about it for some weird reason. My favourite part, as usual, is finding all the nooks and crannies into which I can add things like needles and thread, glasses screws, and other cool things.
