Does anyone else think his show should be named "Bear Gryll's Eats the World" or something along that line. Seriously, i really get sick of seeing him eat everything in sight! I understand the "survival" aspect of having to eat something you normally would not but seriously! (We need a puking smiley here)

Yet somehow Bear ends up on the box here in the states and Ray doesn't :( I wish they would at least play some of Ray's older shows over here :tu: any of his shows would be fine and make for better viewing :D

Because he shows you what not to do in a survival situation. His show is irresponsible because someone is going to remember "survival tips" from the show when the chips are down, and probably won't make it out.

I've been struggling with this myself, I'm actually quite suprised at the bashings he gets here. It's actually starting to annoy me!

The people here are otherwise so friendly and understanding, I really don't get it. >=(
I knew if I had to do a crazy survival show where I did stupid stuff like eat maggots and drink urine I would spend any night I could at a friggin' motel.

Drinking poo juice  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh.

My eldest & misses really like the show. I guess it really is just entertainment & should not to be a reference on how to survive in the wild   .

I wanna know who carries all Bear's oral antibiotics     :D :D

That's the rub! And I'm sure his camera crew has all kinds of medical equipment ready with all the stupid stunts he does.

It just really annoys me that people are afraid of sheeple performing the stunts in the show... if they think it's a viable option they were probably going to get themselves killed one way or another. I know I've learned a few tidbits that I will likely never ever use from the show but it's mostly for entertainment, and I know he entertains me! :ahhh

I hate the term sheeple. I find it highly condescending.

I teach Outdoor Ed among other things. I can't stand a show that shows people who lack knowledge..."ideas" on what to do that are mostly all wrong and dangerous. On field trips, I always seem to get one or two kids who idolize Man VS Wild and do stupid stuff like climb trees and eat anything they come across. I spend my time un-teaching them what the show gets all wrong.

And you wonder why I don't like his show?  >:(

Quoted for truth.  This term bugs the heck out of me.

Bear Grylls is entertaining, but like Survivorman it should have a giant disclaimer after every commercial break that says "PLEASE DON'T ACTUALLY DO THIS.  THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT".

I find it condescending when people tell me what my definition of a loosely defined term is. ::)

And why blame Bear? He's making a living doing whatever it is that he does. Why should it be his fault that kids are kids? :(
Or that parents aren't parents anymore?

Eh, unfortunately, stupidity isn't limited to children.

I find its usually used when someone is ranting on about how the vast majority of the population don't share their narrow wacky view of the world.

Why blame a guy who sets himself up in a position of authority, is (at best) misleading about his background and makes money out of giving bad, potentially life threatening advice on TV?  I've no idea. ::)

TBH mate, if no-one took him seriously and just took his show as silly entertainment, then I'd have less of an issue.  But that's not how it's sold and it's not how everyone sees it, so I can and do have an issue.

TBH 99% of the advice I hear him give is pretty straight-forward, common knowledge kinda stuff. "Warm yourself up ASAP because hypothermia can kill you quickly." Not exactly bad advice. I can't think of a good example of him giving advice that is plain wrong though.
