Hello from London, UK
on: April 18, 2010, 04:12:08 AM
Hello all, Ive been 'loitering' around this forum now for about a year & finally decided to join & introduce myself. I love multitools, especially old ones & unique ones.

I have collected 7 Harley Davidson Knives from the Franklin Mint including the wooden display box, all of which has cost me close to £500. Here is a link to something similiar:

http://www.franklinmint.com/product1.aspx?SID=2&Product_ID=911

I have some old pen/fruit knives of unknown year of manufacture but I was told by the seller that 1 of them is pre WW2.

I got the multitool bug early on when I was about 10 years old, I obtained a SAK by swapping it for a matchbox car with my friend, it was his dad's & he was livid when he found out what his foolish son had done. I never swapped it back. A good few years later I went out to a trip with my college were some bast*rd stole it, I was gutted. Then for about 5 years I didn't buy any multitool, however I caught the bug again when I saw a friends Wenger.

I then went to Switzerland a few years later & bought a Victorinox, the year after that I went again & bought a Wenger.

My every day tool is a Gerber 600, about 3 years old with all the bits & the ballistic pouch, an even older SAK which I use as my 1st keyring & which will probably need replacing soon as the blades are beginning to wobble around & a small Rolson keychain plier multitool which I use as my 2nd keyring.

Yes, quite right! I went to Switzerland in 2007, I loved it so much I went there again in 2008.

I went there for holidaying, the fact that its the home of SAKs was a bonus, although in my opinion they charge a small fortune for them!

Yeah, I've heard they're not cheap to buy over there.  Still it would be totally wrong to go to Switzerland and not buy one. :D
