It's a Power Surge!
Love it Sync. That's my kind of stuff. I am the king of the "groaner" puns at work, so I really appreciate that. May I use it?

Sure. I think someone else here may have already called theirs a Power Surge?

To all interested parties...Shellee from Leatherman came through for me. I just received and tested the Surge replacement spring and bit.

Great to hear.  :tu:

Thundah:
Forgot they had clamps on the end mate ... they go in the middle between two poles - clamps on both ends and connect to each wire. Purpose is to maintain separation between wires and prevent clashing during adverse weather, tree limbs falling etc..
They are a type of rubber. Our state has gone away from glass insulators for high voltage. Still some around though. Peace ✌️

Coontz74:
Thanks mate. It's only kids paint from their arts n crafts box at home I stole.
Ducttapetech here on the board has yellow on his, that's where I got the idea.
But it's only water based so it won't last very long. I have been meaning to try some nail polish or model paint like some have recommended to me. :salute:

So, my bit driver has mysteriously gone missing from my Surge. How do you get a replacement? Pretty sure they are not in the 42 bit kits are they?

No, the driver is not in the kit.
LM will fix it or you might try eBay to replace it yourself.

Thanks aluminated. For now, I'll have to just move the star-flat from my Wave when I want to take out my Surge.
Cheers mate

How does a bit driver go missing from a Surge? Do you mean the part that aluminated linked to (which is screwed to the tool)?

Just for clarification, this is a Removable Bit Driver (in the middle of the plastic card) which fits onto 3D Phillips screwdrivers (which the Surge does not have):

... and this is the Bit Driver Extender, which is purchased separately and can be inserted into the tool's bit driver (to extend the reach):

Nice Poncho!

Well, we know how the tool will hold up. Please let us know if that leather (pleather?) sheath is any better than the molle in your other post

It is a very nice sheath but I will still be using the molle if I am carrying it for work ;) Plus this isn't my first Surge as I have the older style one as well :tu: :D

Nah man, just the actual 'bit'. Like the ones in the card. The regular star-flat but I have lost

Thanks man. Still needs a proper coat of some good paint. That red was just a trial with crappy water based paint I stole from my kids.
Cheers for the inspiration

So, my bit driver has mysteriously gone missing from my Surge. How do you get a replacement? Pretty sure they are not in the 42 bit kits are they?

Tom

Emailed Leatherman and asked them how do I get a replacement and their response was ' what's your address and we will mail one out today for you'. Still amazed by the outstanding customer service.
Even though it was me that lost the bit, they are sending me out a replacement free of charge! How good
