Double-edged kitchen
on: August 19, 2010, 11:05:14 AM
Double-edged, rounded tip and sharpened. Story - convex lens, with no visible cart.
Material Blade - high carbon. Handle - a beautiful brown wood, the structure is somewhat reminiscent of bubinga. Mounting plate, three brass rivets. The handle on the form is not quite the same as fulltang blade, because of which the grooves are formed ugly ... Stamp no ...
I wonder about the purpose of this callback whether any industrial or home-made ...
As version - for beekeeping...

interesting knife/chopper/spatula? Looks like a nice piece of carbon steel there.  I have something
similar but not sharpened and made from stainless steel.

I think that shape is used for slicing thin slices in ham. Never seen a double edge in any kitchen knife thou, sounds like good way to slice yourself.  ???

It is a slicer, and I think jie's right - probably for ham, but it could be for fish as well.  Current salmon slicers have almost the exact same shape, but tend to be grantonized to prevent sticking.

I would think it was made for a delicatessen/charcuterie.
