Vic 111mm vs LM Wave: Size comparison?
on: August 22, 2010, 04:20:17 PM
Could anyone with a both tools post some pics of a 111mm victorinox VS a LM Wave, including the tools? I haven't really been able to get to play with any 111mm vics and am curious as to how the size of the blade and saw would compare to my Wave.

On a semi-related note, is there a good comparison of multitool scissors somewhere? I've seen a thread or something about that before, but I can't for the life of me find it again

Maybe not exactly the pic you are after but here's one showing the different Vic scissors 58mm, 74mm, 84mm and 91mm.

I'd also be interested to see more mulitools' scissors side by side.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Thanks Gareth, very useful picture! Does anyone happen to know what size scissors are on the swisstool?

If more people can post pictures of scissors and make sure to include at least one that's already been pictured, we can photoshop together a massive picture showing many scissors to scale

Here's the first version of the Photoshop file. To use it you need a program that can read photoshop files. The layers are named according the where the scissors are from, so just drag them around to compare. While this might be annoying for those who don't have photoshop, it's much more flexible as it allows you to drag the scissors on top of one another, make them semi-transparent etc to really compare them. there's always the free GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/
Which I think can open PSD files

They are the same size as the ones on a regular swiss army knife, and bigger than the weeny scissors on the Leatherman Wave.  :pok:  :D

IIRC, the SwissCard has either modified 58mm or 74mm scissors.

If someone posts a full-scale picture of the wave with implements open I will gladly compare with my OHT

Actually ran across a rescue tool today and had a play with it, so that's not necessary. However, if anyone has a Squirt S4 and a 91mm SAK I'd be very interested in seeing the scissors on those compared
