I ordered a Swiss tech 19 in 1 but I saw on the website that there is an Xi version but I can't spot the difference.

I can't see any difference either. Both are made from stainless steel. The Xi is said to be in their Platinum Series, and the packaging is different from the other 19 in 1, but they are the same identical tool in function, feature, and construction. The only possibility is that the finish may be different...if that.

Does it come in a gift tin? As opposed to a clamshell pack for the other one?

As far as I can tell no. Just the cardboard backing for their blister packs are different. Red background for the 19 in 1, Black for the 19-1 Xi.

possibly the Xi is chrome/polished, and the normal is brushed/blasted?

They're both polished stainless steel.

on the swiss-tech website, the only difference i see is a $5 difference, and for another $5, you CAN get a gift tin.

Here is the answer:  :tu:

Good Morning Mr. Mathews,

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding some of our Swiss+Tech Tools. We value your business and hope to answer any of your questions.

The Micro-Max XI comes with a special coating that adds additional protection to the metal. Besides that coating, the Micro-Max and Micro-Max XI are the same tool.

I hope this information is helpful.

Again, we thank you for your inquiry.  Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Lisa Miotke

You would think they would make that obvious on their own web site, let alone on the packaging?

I agree...  Would it have killed them to list the special coating.  ::)  Oh well... at least we have the answer now.   :D
