Sunrise and volcano pics
on: August 28, 2010, 03:19:42 AM
Took these pics along my jogging route early this morning.

Sugarcane field on the foreground. The main agricultural product of out province is sugar. You can travel for hours on the highway with sugarcane plantations on both sides. There are 14 sugar centrals in our province alone.

Canla-on Volcano is on the left with its crater clearly visible. It's the most active volcano in central Philippines and it has an elevation is 8,000 feet.  It can be seen from our place on a clear day. Cam setting is 4xzoom.

The flowers are in bloom after a long dry spell.

Hello Bob!

That's Santan. It's an ornamental plant that blooms with flowers all year round. It is internationally knows as the Jungle Geranium, Flame of the Woods and Jungle Flame.

The are also white, light violet and yellow aside from the red variety shown in the 4th picture.

Actually it's both ornamental and medicinal plant with many uses. Click here..
