Which model was your first Vic/Wenger and when? Still have it?

Mine was a Victorinox Standard in 1982, followed by a Classic in 1984 and I still have both.

The classic is in very good condition, but the standard is pretty beated up...well, I was only 11 years old, and as soon as I found a sharpener I decided to improve it...

My first was a Wenger....something.

I've tried to identify it via SAK Selector a few times, but my recollection of the tool loadout is not one hundred percent.

followed by a Vic...something.

Then, if I remember correctly, a Classic and a Climber.

I have none of my early pocket knives (Swiss or otherwise), my oldest is a Classic, but it was my (third I think?) one of those.

Vic Hiker. Got it about 1987. Got its first proper use in 1989 on a canal boating trip. The saw was used to make repairs to the boat.

No longer have this knife. I really can't remember what I did with it.

I started with 2 Victorinox Alox, a 58mm Companion Red, and Money Clip Silver.  That was maybe 2002 only I think, I can't remember a SAK before that although I always admired them.  It was not until late 2007 that I got really hook with a 91mm Super-Tinker.  I still have them all and those first two set me on my alox obsession, which translated into simply an obsession.

My Dad gave me a small Tinker upon returning from a business trip in the early 1970's. I still have it in my collection.

Bought a black Huntsman in France in 1993, lost it in 1999... Replaced it with a sapphire one in 2000 that was lost on a trip to London in '06

First was a Vic BSA that I had in the cubscouts, loooooong gone. Then in the early 80's I got a Champion that I traded out for a Swisschamp in like '85 or '86...lost in a move mid 90's. Every Vic I've gotten since then I still have with the exception of a classic SD that my wife now carries.

Victorinox Tinker... I'm pretty sure I gave it away to some guy who needed a screwdriver on campus last year during the move-out period. No qualms there though, I bought it myself.

My first pocket knife was a Victorinox Pioneer I bought it with birthday $ & have owned it over 25 years. It has a broken blade tip that I recently re-profiled


When I broke the blade tip I think I threw the Vic into a draw & kinda forgot about it.Glade I did not chuck it away

It must have been a Vic Camper. I can remember that it had a saw, and no scissors. I must have been 8 or 9, but I am not sure about this.... I don't have it anymore, I don't know where it is... I guess I have lost it as a teenager

I was given an older Spartan back in the mid 70's but lost it fairly soon after. It was used and missing the tweezers and toothpick. I went around opening up cans at the house for a couple of days that drove my mom crazy. I think maybe she hid it and then forgot where.

Most of my next knives were 3 blade Stockman type American made knives. I really got into collecting knives back in the early 1980's but did not add SAK's into the mix until 2003.

Black Victorinox "Camper," quickly followed by a black "Classic."  I got them during the mid-1980s.  I still have the Camper (in great shape), but lost the Classic at work (since replaced with a "blue" one).

MY first SAK was an Adventurer with the sidelock, to replace my BSA Deluxe, back in '87, when they first came out. I liked the tool selection, and that it has the lock. Then a '92 Soldier, and it's been a few more since then! Right now I tend to carry a good ol' Farmer, alongside a Spydie of some type.

Wenger/Buck Taskmate.  Still have it, since 1999 or so I think.  I've dropped it onto concrete server room floors so many times that it looks like a truck has hit it and it has so much pocket wear that you can't really read the "Buck" on one side.  Recently bought it a big brother.

Just an ordinary Vic Spartan.  Now rather worn around the edges, but not yet ready to test the lifetime guarantee.

A little while ago I lost it when it slipped into the lining of my camera bag.  It was found again by an airport security official when I tried to take my camera through the X-ray check.  He pulled out all the blades, refolded them, and handed it back to me.  Yes, this was after 2001, and no, I don't plan to try the same trick again.
