Nice masks. Think I need to teach you how to make them yourself.

I hear you. Thinking of trying to make a forge. That way I can play to my hearts content, then harden the edge back up properly.

my biggest tip is to bring the air in the bottom and through a diffuser (metal plate with holes drilled in it) not from the top like mine  :salute:

And mine needs a slot in the end to push the steel in (one day)

Looks good what do you use to pump the air through?  I have a old cast BBQ, just need to figure out the air supply.

The pipe top right is from the 'exhaust' from my hoover
I need to bring it in the bottom and need to spread the air out with some kind of diffuser

As I will use the little door at the bottom of the BBQ thinking of using copper pipe with holes in it to defuse around the base. Just need to find the right fittings.

Thanks for the help.

I am not sure how long copper pipe will last Mate
I think steel is the way to go, but have a go with copper and if it works I might have to copy you  :salute:

I received this from a very nice man at the Meet a few weeks ago  :salute:

I gave it a bit of a polish and a drop of Linseed oil
It now looks a little nicer

I haven't, will have a look. I only pop in to BB about once a year :)

Stick still looking lonesome.  I will have an axe day once the days draw in and I'm less busy.

No idea what the bigger one is for, but the smaller one looks a lot like a 'hacking' knife.

Thanks Gareth. Like Tony I always called them putty knives.

Looked at the steam punk knife you referred to Tony.  Well executed but I'm not convinced the overall effect is my cup of tea

It certainly looks like one.

If you can get hold of a copy of "the Axe Book" by Gransfors Bruks, it's got a some good info in it. Not just trivia, but techniques or effective and safe use (safe for you AND the axe). There's also stuff on storing firewoods etc if it's relevant to you. It comes free when you buy one of their axes, but I'm sure you can buy them seperately too.

Definitely a nice looking tool. I'm sure you'll get plenty of use and enjoyment from it  :salute:

Great idea  :salute:

Got one now  :tu:

(PM me if you want to know how to get one Guys)
