my biggest tip is to bring the air in the bottom and through a diffuser (metal plate with holes drilled in it) not from the top like mine

And mine needs a slot in the end to push the steel in (one day)

The pipe top right is from the 'exhaust' from my hoover
I need to bring it in the bottom and need to spread the air out with some kind of diffuser

As I will use the little door at the bottom of the BBQ thinking of using copper pipe with holes in it to defuse around the base. Just need to find the right fittings.

If you can get hold of a copy of "the Axe Book" by Gransfors Bruks, it's got a some good info in it. Not just trivia, but techniques or effective and safe use (safe for you AND the axe). There's also stuff on storing firewoods etc if it's relevant to you. It comes free when you buy one of their axes, but I'm sure you can buy them seperately too.

Definitely a nice looking tool. I'm sure you'll get plenty of use and enjoyment from it
