Hi guys! This is DTH's wife. I know that he loves this board, and asked me to promise him to give you guys updates.We got him down to the VA yesterday (Saturday) and got him checked in. From what I understand he's going to have a complete evaulation today and then figure out the best course of treatment. I don't know what is going to happen. Nobody wants to do an inpatient detox from Methadone becuase it's such a dangerous drug. So, it's possible that he will work with his primary care Dr's and reduce gradually. So, he might be home sooner than we anticipated. Not sure until he gets his full eval. Thank you to those who have prayed for him and please continue to do so. He's got a long way ahead of him, but nothing is more important than his family.....other than maybe his multi-tool! so I have no doubt that he will do whatever it takes to get well. It's just a constant fight to get the Dr's to help sometimes. Dr's want a quick fix and unfortunately, this isn't going to be one of them.Thanks to all for being good friends to him. Anyway, I'm feeling good but I have to admit I do feel physically weak. This medicine had taken 40 lbs off of me in the last 2 years. But I do like what it takes to gain weight. I'm sure my appetite will return soon. I've always been a huge fan of good food and beer.
At this very moment? At work. I'm at my Mom's house regaining my strength and getting my medicines worked out right. Thankfully they live close so they offered to take care of me and my boy while I rest a few days. Although I'm sure it's only cuz they want to see my boy.
