Wenger Evo 63 black available in North America?
on: September 18, 2010, 07:54:22 AM
I ran across some photos of the Wenger Evo 63 in black, with a black blade, corkscrew and combo tool.  Is this knife still made and can one locate it in North America?  I can't seem to find any American websites selling it.

By the looks of it, they have made their way to Europe, so they make it the North America some time.  I wonder if it is the same knife, as in the same technology used to coat the blades?

Thanks for the info fellas.  That price is mighty steep ($170+).  I guess I will have to think about it, if they ever make them in the North American market.

I'll continue to dream.

They sell here (In stores) between $120 and $200 AUD

I think it looks dandy- nice, but unless that blade deflects laser blasts and shoots lightning, I ain't paying that much for it. (Though it does come in a fancy little tin box)

If anyone desperately wants one, I'll check my favourite tobacconist (who happens to have decent SAK prices) to see what the best rate is.

I think you'd have to be barking mad though.

Yes, this knife is amazing, but the price is also amazingly high.  Oh well, I will keep dreaming.

I wonder if the cost is associated with actually substance (maybe the process of coating these blades costs them money) or maybe it is fluff related to limited runs.

Sheesh, I paid $15 for the red version, while it looks nice there's no way in hell I'd pay $100+ for it.

I sure as heck don't know the real production costs, Def might know the right people to blackmail for that info, but I doubt we'll be told.

The lowest price so far is $100 AUD.

I suspect this one comes in a less fancy display box (regular silver Wenger box instead of ninja black)

on handling, the black on the blades is actually shiny purplish, instead of the matt black finish found on Leathermans.

I still don't get what's so damn costly about it.

A plain red Classic 63 is only $15.
