Leatherman Style?!!?
on: September 19, 2010, 02:13:37 AM
Okay, so I start a whole special thread for recent updates, I find out that Benners left testicle finally descended, and Def sold his SAK collection to buy a commission with the Mounties, but no one mentioned the Style came out?

It's...meh. Played with it for about 15 seconds before I dismantled it. Still got some of it in a pile  :D

Here is my impression of them back in June. My feeling on it hasn't changed any since.

Ooo, nice review Chako-san.

Any chance of pics next to something else?

With your mentions of Classics/esquires, I get the feeling this tool is a lot smaller than I was expecting.

Actually it isn't all that bad. The blade is quite nice and much more sturdy than those on 58mm SAKs. However, Leatherman seem to be obsessed with turning every bloody tool into a manicurist tool, either that or they just want to copy Victorinox for the sake of it. A better tool IMO would have been based on the Squirt, with scissors on one side of the knife, blade on the other, and 4 tools in the middle; awl, phillips, small flathead and combo large flathead/bottle opener. It's completely possible and only requires LM to fabricate one new part they don't already make, and it would have resulted in a smaller tool with a lot more tools.

They are not very large.

They come in 4 colours that I know about.

If you place two Styles together, you get a Squirt in size.

Already sent mine in for broken scissors.  BTW, I never even used them.

Well that is just bad luck and not normal. It's exactly the same scissors as on the PS4/ES4, and my PS4 scissors have been forced to do things that I honestly didn't think they would survive
