I hope there are some race-fans here ...

Here are some pictures from the Belgian grand prix Formula 1 in 2009.  All of these are taken in the corner with the name "Les Combes", at the end of the straight.  The last one is a picture from my sons running up the famous "Eau Rouge" Corner on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, this was taken on the team presentation day of the 2009 Fia GT 24 hours of Spa.

I had the chance to go to a Formula 1 race many years ago. Much too expensive for me right now

Good heavens no, team orders are forbidden ...  

I usually let the one with the biggest piggy bank go first ...  Euh ... I meant to say the fastest one ...  .

Awesome awesome pics. I still think the current aero package the FIA mandated makes the cars look like ass though. As much as I love F1, I really don't have much hope for the future of the series. Ecclestone seems Hell-bent on destroying what makes it special. I wish the FOTA series would have happened.

You're right about the current aero package, the "older" cars looked way better.  So here are some pictures from the Belgian GP Formula 1 2007  .
And the two pic's on the bottom are from the 2005 GP, just to give you a taste of the Belgian weather  .  The pic from the mini-cooper (they raced a few hours before the F1 cars)  is how I saw it on the giant screen in front of me, and that was immediately the end of that race ...

Now those are proper F1 machines, even if the front wing on those McLaren-Mercedes still looks like a vagina to me. Well, if you don't count the crazy-stupid-insane-awesome cars of the late 80's/early 90's. They need to bring the turbo engines back. Of course I also wanna see Group B come back to rally but that aint happenin' either.
