My Spirit pouch is crispy

I like the design of the pouch for my new Spirit. It is, however, crispy. Does anyone else know what I mean?

Yes,its dried and cracks when squeezed. It hasn't cracked all the way through, just the surface. I wondered if anyone elses is the same.

mine mostly lives in the jacket during the colder months and on my desk during the hotter months

That's odd, I don't remember it being cracked, but it didi live most of its life in a drawer. Sorry about that!

I wonder if some leather conditioner would soften it up?

I'll try that - Please don't apologise- its an excellent pouch, I just wondered if it was coated with something that protects it. It seems like it's been sprayed with a laquer or plastic coating - no biggy though.

I am really impressed with the Spirit - almost a work of art, with the advantage of real utility as well.

Update:

I lathered several coats of vaseline to the pouch over the week and it's a lot less dry now. Luckily I had a large pot of vaseline ready for my induction to the No Lifers Club. Amazing how quickly you can get through the stuff..... :facepalm:
