I remember reading an article about how it was calculated that that thing would go close to 400mph.

At least you'd finally have an argument for not wearing a helmet... what good will it do you at 400 mph? 

I do have to say that I do like the wind in my hair on country roads, but I also like the feel of my brain and eyeballs inside my head more!

What did it feel like when you sat on it Mike?  Big, heavy, awkward and uncomfortable like it looks?

It's a good idea in theory, but take it from someone who know's when you crash a bike you wana part company from it as soon as possible



In case your interested it happened at 206 mph when the back tire delaminated, but just imagine what would happen if the bike hit him, while he was tumbling that's why I hate enclosed motor bikes

That looks like someone stole the wings off an ultralight or kit plane!

Pretty nasty accident- they don't make padding effective at those speeds!  Maybe they should invent an airtight suit, and hook some little pressurized cylinders to the rider's belt that's triggered to inflate like the Michelin Man the second he leaves the bike!

They have done in japan, it was a few years back put the idea was, you had a rip cord, one end was attached to the jacket the other end to the handle bar's, and when you went over the high side, the cord was pulled and your vest blew up like an airbag

I don't know about that seeing as I've broken 5 ribs and fratured 3 on three different occations ;D

At least with an elbow you get a nice cast for women to put there phone number on ;D

I've broken ribs and arms, but never an elbow.  I have broken a knee and an ankle, and trust me, those major joints never recover completely!  Ribs at least don't move (much) so there's no arthritis and other post- traumatic issues.  I had my right elbow hyper extended in a training accident, and it still acts up from time to time!

A guy my wife works with is in his 50's and had surgery yesterday to reconstruct and pin his elbow because he fell off a ladder and landed elbow first on the pavement.

Break bones, not joints!

Well I'm gona have to disagree a little about ribs, I broke mine pretty badly four odd years ago and because it wasn't a clean break, they sliced my inside's up pretty good's so i've got a lot of scare tissue near my sturnum, so if i pick up anything relatively heavy or lift something awkwardly I get a tearing pain across my chest

Even after physio it's still a long way from right, and It wasn't helped when me and my brother were messing about (drunkenly) and he put his elbow in my ribs then triped up both up, with his 14 stone landing on me and breaking and seperating another 2 ribs ;D

Ouch... 

I've never had that much of a problem with my ribs, but then I've only broken two on a couple of occasions, and then it was just the bones that broke, with no innards tearing.
