My old Magellan 300 reads out in lat/lon with no map software.  Unless I am driving I really prefer it to the mapping software that my other one runs on.

Map software is useless on my kayak!

I was wondering what GPS and navigation software/hardware everyone else is using?
Def

I've just ordered and received a  Garmin 250W  - LLBean had a special $90 off coupon I got......... with a final cost of  $137.00 delivered.

Will use it for upcoming trips to Vermont + Maine  this fall and  Seattle in the winter

My wife isn't the adventurous sort, but her grandmother isn't doing so well these days and my wife has decided to go visit her.  The problem is, she's about a six hour drive away, and my wife has never driven outside of the city.  In fact, she doesn't like to drive in the city either, and really only goes to her mother's place or the local mall.  Beyond that, she either gets me to take her, or doesn't go.

So, in order to help make her more comfortable with such a road trip, I got her a GPS- the LG 830 I think it is.  Nice unit- not all that fancy, but more than functional.

She took it for a test drive today, going about 120kms from home to a small town she likes to visit.  She's never driven there on her own- one time she did drive home from there, but I was in the car to guide her then, so it doesn't really count.  Today she drove there and back, all by herself, and she has the utmost in confidence in her GPS now.  I have made a believer out of her, as she thought it was a silly gimmick until now.

It gives me piece of mind to know she'll always find her way home, and it makes her feel more confident and adventurous.  Perhaps one of the best gadgets I've ever gotten!

For all the good the Bluetooth adaptor thing is doing me I might as well have given you the antenna!  It seems the Bluetooth adaptor I got for my laptop to make use of MS Streets and Trips works with everything except Vista...  >:(
