I've used the low-end one, nothing really spectacular.  For the price you could get a Streamlight Nano, a couple spare sets of batteries and a little GITD paint and put it around the inside of the bezel.

Might not be bad for that, then.  Slap a lithium 9 volt on there and it'll last quite a long time in both storage and light.

I'm sure I read a good review of them somewhere. Only prob is for long term storage, a 9v alkaline would probably discharge and start to lose power  :-\

I keep one in my jacket pocket for walking the dogs.  It wont light up the entire street, but i can see fine to keep them from eating cat poop.  And it's nice & compact.
The long runtime also appeals to me.  During a blackout last winter, used the low power setting to read a book (gasp) for about an hour.  Still on the original battery.  My GF got a cheap knockoff, and it seems to work OK, but I really like the original.

I have one in my battery exploitation kit ( for grid failures like 2003 , ice storms etc ) , they are OK , and worth having . You can always pirate a batt out of a residential smoke detector .

I don't fancy them because they run from 9V.  but ... thinking about it, if you swap out the batteries in your smoke alarms each year you are left with a pile of batteries with plenty of life left in them that this would be able to make use of.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.
