Summer comes to an end.
on:
October 30, 2010, 02:30:58 AM
Tonight we're going to have the first hard frost of the Fall. That means, of course, all the deck plants have to come in or DIE! We knew it was going to freeze tonight so we prepared the sunroom for the plants. Yesterday, we had to assemble some Ikea shelves for the smaller plants. We have an older version of the shelves we bought and shockingly, the new ones had significant quality control problems. There was some healthy swearing going on last night trying to get these new shelves to line up in some reasonable fashion.
However, we're ready and everything is in. Some of the plants have seriously grown over the summer.
And now, pictures:

At least you have a quality show like NCIS on the telly.
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

OMG! How big is your deck?

If you leave your surge in that indoor jungle by next summer it will have evolved into some giant metal dinosaur.

Good job on saving those plants
Here in Jax Florida we probably won't get any freezes for another couple months or so. Until then it may be at 60's/70's for a few days, then shoot right up to 90's

+1 on the NCIS comment.
We've already had a couple of bouts of frost.
As I type this, it's been snowing for the past 7 hours
