I learned that when I was about ten. Same time I learned how to patch a fuse too. :ahhh (You know, the old ceramic ones with a thin wire in them)

I often wonder how I survived my childhood when I remember all the dangerous stuff I played with.

Less of the old, my house still has them  :-[

I hasten to add that I plug in a little RCD when doing anything electric outside.  Good job as well the way my wife goes through the hedge trimmer cord almost every time she picks it up ::)  Could be worse though, at least she's doing the hedge trimming and not me :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

It's not just me then, how did we get this far in life without going up in flames :o You can imagine people all over the world changing a fuse or trimming the hedge, afterwards sighing and saying 'we made it' :ahhh

she does know that the bright orange bit of hedge probably doesn't need to be cut any shorter, right? ;)

LoL :D  In her defence, it is quite easy to do.  I've fitted an in-line connection box next to the body of the trimmer now so that I don't have to strip the whole thing down every time she does it.

Again, no multitools or SAKs in the latest episode. The space balloon item was cool though and I really liked the aluminium lemon squeezer thing :D

Did anyone get the striped jumper inside joke? :pok: :D

I mean look at this thing. I've never even worn it.

Thanks for the bump. It seems like an amusing past time.

Slightly disconcerting that he can't get the old wiring colours right though ::) ::)

Though as I pointed out to my wife, most people are not confident wiring a plug as everything is moulded these days and that's a very good thing considering some of the hack jobs you see on old equipment!

Yup, I waited a few seconds to see if he'd correct himself and then, nothing. :D

Oh I know those!!! Just recently while demolishing a factory I found a full box of new fuses!! So now I'm good to go for a while!!

You'd be more tempted with one if it had the antlers?  OK, whatever floats your boat mate. :D

The messed up thing about all this is that me being in the USA if I want to see these shows I have to resort to a little torrenting. Well it is the same for Top Gear actually as BBCA does not show the new stuff and is several seasons behind.

Oh yes torrents, that's how I get most of my favourite programs, including my current one 'Sons Of Guns' :tu:

Just spotted a Gerber MP600 DET being used in the Christmas special to help with 'cutting' down the tree. ;)
