Hey all, I might be alittle slow but I just realized thru searching that not all Juice's are USA made and that stinks!

Has anyone had any issues with the ones that aren't USA made?  It says "overseas" but where exactly are they made?

I am thinking about selling the ones that I have that are not USA made!  I have two s2's, one c2, gray kf4, and a blue cs4.

Is it worth it to keep these ones that are stamped "Leatherman Tool" vs the "Leatherman USA"?

Check this link out that I found.  It is for the s2 but if you clip on the leatherman tab and scroll down to other Juice models and see it stated on other models too.

The KF4 has three variations!  WTH?

None of the leathermans are "USA made" anymore, At least by Californian laws and regulations. So you'll have to sell all your leathermans :pok:

That's probably cause they were still saying that they are "made is USA" but weren't and dont have stamps that say USA.

Some Juices dont state any variations so not sure.  I do have another cs4 that is stamped "USA"...so dont have to sell them all!  :salute:

There is no such thing as an oversees S2. They are all made and assembled in Portland, some of the tools (pliers and files) are made in other countries though and then shipped back to the US for finishing and assembly.

Will you sell your tv and computer too? :) I bet they weren't made in USA either. ;)

All those tools were made the same, in same factories, by the same people. The ones with USA were sold before the ruling, the ones with the USA ground out were stock they had and the Tool ones came after. Same multitools, same quality, same everything. The only difference is a piece of paper from the Californian court. Read the link I posted.

You realize you are contradicting yourself right? I assume the tools and pliers head are manufactured "overseas then shipped to Portland for final assembly. This doesn't bother me. They are still high quality tools in my opinion.

I thought there should be a sea between for something to be overseas. Mexico and Canada ;)

Any ideas what Leatherman will do if I send in a Juice Pro for repair?  Will they try to replace it with an XE6 or can they pop the pins out and fix the snap spring?

You'll get a xe6. They don't repair Juices.

Lame..... looks like I'll need to find a machinist to either drill or mill out the rivets.

Ehhhh I think metro has bigger fish to fry. I can think of three machinists one is about a block from my house.

I have an XE6.

Was at the beach this weekend and pursposely did not bring a corkscrew to test out the XE6. What a mistake  :drink:. It was so hard to open the bottles of wine, I had to go out and pick up a corkscew at the local wine shop.

Ha ha I'm 32 and I have never used a corkscrew once. I'm thinking when I take apart my pro I'll replace the corkscrew with a different tool...... not sure what though.

I didn't say I would ask him to do it. Just talk to him about his expertise on this. He's taken a ton of these tools apart.

Oh yeah sorry, I spoke to Eric about it over on edcforums. He just mills off the ends of the rivets and scraps the scales. Taking them apart is easy enough..... putting a juice back together is a different story.

Wit the way it works, your better off replacing it unless its a super emergency

I myself just turned 39 and have never needed the corkscrew on my multitools. I have often wondered if a bit driver would fit in that space.

There are Wenger's like the Pocket Grip which have a bit holder there, so yes, definitely :D

Edit: I realise we are talking Juices here, but the principle in size is the same I guess! Don't know about the LM driver, but that would be very useful.
