Hello From Colorful Colorado!
on: December 08, 2010, 07:47:11 PM
Hi guys! I usually don't do these "introduce yourself" type threads but I've been lurking for about a week now and the culture here seems pretty mature (I don't think I've seen any pointless flaming on here at all).  So thanks for that , the flaming and rudeness gets tiring and makes me not want to post anything at all.

So anyway, I like multi-tools! Especially smaller ones because I work in an office.  Lately I've been getting into modding the little Leathermans like the squirts and style CS.  I modded a squirt ps4 to have scissors instead of the pliers, fitted 3 keys in and kept the blade. I've carried it everyday for the last few months and I love it.  Then I picked up a Style CS and have been trying to think of ways to do the same to it.  And thats how I found this forum.  I saw what evil510 and Andreas have been doing with their tools and totally opened up my mind with different possibilities.  So thanks for that you guys, having your mod pics posted on the internet helps more people than you may realize.

The Mod Squad section looks like it hasn't seen much action lately, so hopefully I can contribute something useful and encourage more people to do their own mods.

Welcome!

Fort Collins, moved here about 4 years ago from Delaware for work and for the bigger BMX scene.  I love Estes Park though, I try and get up there and drive around RMNP when I can.  Boulder is pretty too, I haven't been to Ouray yet.  I actually had to look it up on google maps haha.  I've been as far west as Gunnison.  It's so awesome out there, especially because of growing up on the east coast, the scenery here blows my mind pretty much every day.

Welcome!

Here you go. I planned on posting these up in the Mod section but I guess it wouldn't be too irrelevant to post here also.

And here is the first key mod I tried with a Gerber shrotcut that didn't last too long before it fell apart.

Thanks! I'll post more info on them when I get around to posting them in the Mod section.

Heh,  small world.  I live in Northern Baltimore County.  I'm a little surprised you don't miss the change of seasons on the East Coast.

Ah cool, we were almost neighbors, funny how that happens.  At one point I lived in MD off 273 pretty close to Newark, DE.   Yeah I Don't miss the seasons too much, I love being able to ride my bike outside all year round.

Thanks man!  I love SAK's too! My granddad gave me my first one almost 20 years ago and I still have it.  I never thought it was very possible to mod an SAK until I saw the stickied thread in the mod section here, now I really want to give it a go.

I've been to Fort Collins in the winter. Not sure I'd wanna be riding my bike outside when it was cold enough to freeze the LCD in my watch...
