If you're familiar with vice grips (locking pliers), I think it's about the same concept.

Mine works as advertised, perhaps have a look on You Tube as there's loads of vid's showing numerous techniques.

Why do you think I sold mine?  I just didn't have the patience to operate it.  Give me a nice pair of vice grips any day :D

I started the Crunch Flipping a while back, and included it in a short promo video I experimented with shortly after starting this site:

Attempt #1:
Leatherman and SOG Multitool ad

Attempt #2:
Victorinox, SOG and Leatherman on Multitool.org

Final version:
Leatherman Gerber Victorinox SOG Multitool.org

Thankfully, I have come a long way in video editing since then!

To be honest though, no one can do it nearly as good as Bob!  :D

My first Crunch worked a lot like these others, 'cept the replacement pliers won't stay put and keep opening up. This causes a jam-up on opening unless forcefully done. Closing, have to press down on the jaw through the window. Seriously have considered sending it back for a tested replacement.

I love my crunch, but after carrying it for a week and never, ever using it, it was relegated to my Jumbo as a back up, where it will stay.

Back on topic, my first crunch did the same thing, the pliers would not stay in the open position, they popped out of that little socket very easily.  This second crunch, however, takes a bit of work to close!  It's just tight, so I am pleased with it.
