Christmas comes early!
on: December 15, 2010, 04:49:09 PM
Me and the wife were going to have our Christmas early due to her being out of town over the Holiday, but her excitement over what she got me for Christmas was too much for her to bare........so we exchanged gifts earlier than what we had planned.

A little while back I was on a watch kick, but I haven't bought a new watch in a while as I have been saving up for something else. Anyway, she knew this and instead of getting me another Yellowhorse Custom knife (which she has done the past three years) she decided on getting me a watch. Knowing my like for large timepieces, and the Invicta brand, she went a little flashy on me...............

It's a Invicta 6434 "Reserve Collection" Bolt Chronograph. The watch case is brush finished stainless with the customary "Bolt" steel cable bezel housing a slightly domed Flame Fusion crystal. The dial is sunray Silvertone with White outer ring and subdials. Hour markers and hands are coated in Tritnite. The watch is operated by the signature Bolt-style screw in crown and function pushers and the watch is rated at 200 meters water resistant. The case measures 50mm across and stands at 17mm thick with a screw in case back, and the whole thing is driven by a Swiss ETA G10.211 Quartz Chronograph movement.

Despite the size it is actually quite light, due in part to the Gray polyurethane rubber strap which sports some stainless steel inserts.

And on top of that she also knew that my one watch box and my watch tower were both full so she also got me a Invicta 10-slot collectors watch box just like this one below.....

I like it when Christmas comes early!  :D

Very nice!  The steel cable bezel really sets it off.

I've had extremely good accuracy from the ETA quartz movements I have.

You think that's big, take a look at my Russian Diver...........

This thing is like wearing a dinner plate with a strap on it! And it has some serious lume........

Thanks bud. Yeah, the cable bezel does set it off. But it's the one thing that always made them a bit too flashy for my tastes. I kinda liked the look but always avoided them myself........but I have to admit now that I have one I really like it.

Beautiful watches 2xtap!  That Russian diver stem looks like it could snap a carpal
if one was a bit careless.  ;)

ryan1835,

That Russian Diver, just like mine, has been on sale at both ewatches.com and worldofwatches.com for around $79 at both places.

gustophersmob & msoopeheia,

Thanks!

Sean,

Funny thing is that's not the stem nor the crown. The crown is actually quite small......that big thing digging into the back of my hand is the crown protector. It can be uncomfortable.

ryan,

Here you go bud, for the holidays WoW lowered the price even further on the Invicta 4338 Russian Diver, under $70.00...........http://www.worldofwatches.com/detail.asp?bo_products_id=&bo_products_variance_id=69447&rid=E122010P-DAY2
