Sheath recommendations request
on: December 24, 2010, 03:02:59 AM
Hello everybody, I have a somewhat weird request. I need a sheath-esque thing to fit my multitool (think anything from a Juice XE6 to a full-size Swisstool, depending on the day and needs), a bit driver and holder (haven't decided whether to just get the Victorinox one or something else, I'll do some more research), a Fisher Bullet space pen, and whatever else I might need such as a flashlight, a Zippo/ IMCO lighter, a compass, a firesteel, etc..

In short, I need something to carry all of my EDC type stuff in a single place. However, I usually carry a backpack or some other form of stuff-transportation system, and will place such sheath in that backpack, so it really doesn't need to be particularly slick or anything else. I would appreciate a metal snap + velcro closure system, but just a metal snap or just velcro would both be fine options too.

I'm kind of leaning towards something like a Nite Ize Pock-Its, however, I would also like to know if the space available on side and back pockets in Leatherman sheaths is sufficient to house at least some of the stuff I listed. Such as this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HGDWJQ/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ASB3H6RLW2VNZ
Or this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002H49EO/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Cheers

Yes, Leatherman sheaths with the extra pockets will most of that stuff. The lighter and the compass, not really.

I would strongly recommends the following:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NITE-IZE-NMP-03-01-MULTI-POCK-ITS-/160507373103?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item255efc262f
It is working with Velcro and attached to your belt with a proven, patented clip. It can take a lot of equipment for its size.
They are getting scarce as they are out of production.

Johan

Thank you for the recommendation. From the Pock-Its pouches, that one and the large hip model are my favorites. I'll getting one of each for different purposes ;)
