Wrong end of the blade.

I love lanyard bails on the old Scout and electrician's knives. I'll often put a small carabiner on that bail and clip it to my belt loop. Problem is, they often pivot towards the blade, and I frequently, without looking, just snap the blade shut.  Doing this often can chip the blade.   Maybe that's why they put the bail on that end.

Spending that much on a knife isn't something I can justify (unless it's an old 100mm Vic Soldier in great shape, but even then I probably wouldn't spend that much), but  I like the concept.  I'm sure the clip/bail will fold out of the way so I can OHO it left-handed (since I always do, since I am left handed).

I like it personally. No big surprise there though. I think the carabiner is far enough out of the way its not a issue. It a remake of a old Spyderco model so i'm sure they worked out any kinks before releasing the new one.

yeah, it's the reincarnation of the Snap-iT and Remote Release folders fromyears ago.
The carabiner/shackle is removable, if I recall correctly.

It's been designed, reviewed and studied long enough so as to have some real thought behind it, and no, for most of the original users and owners the attachment did not get in the way nor was it in the wrong end, but YMMV.

I pretend to have one soon, when funds allow, and I'll gladly post my impressions here.  :salute:

Wouldn't the hook effect the cutting ability? Say you were cutting through an apple - it would catch on the apple wouldn't it?

I mean sure it would, but so would a thumb stud on a standard knife if you go that deep.
