SOG/Corkscrew Connection?
on: October 21, 2007, 05:29:15 PM
This may be a stupidly obvious observation. Yesterday I was watching a cooking program. While watching a cook uncork a wine bottle, it came to me- Where I had seen the gear mechanism used on the SOG pliers: a geared cork puller! It's EXACTLY the same setup! Just an aside.

Regards, Bill.

Yup, I know what you're talking about. There are some 100 year old corkscrews around that use the same sort of geared handles as SOG uses.

More recently, Gerber had a series of three different corkscrew tools that were geared.
