The main reason the OHT will not be discontinued any time soon as that it is basically the civilianized version of the German Army Knife and as long as Germany is buying OH GAKs from Victorinox you will see OHT's. 

In addition, it looks very much like a variation of the OHT will be the new Swiss military issue model.

It appears to protrude more than the old OHT, but I'm thinking that might just be an optical illusion created by the rounder, shorter hole.

I just got it in the mail today and let me tell you, I am stoked!  The pouch and 2AAA light with it are sweet!

From the spine of the knife to the top of the hole on both models is 34.5mm, so no, it doesn't protrude any farther than the original.  More pics/description etc soon.

Is the sheath for the knife and the flashlight an all and one pouch? I really like the look of this one and would like your opinion on it if it is.

From what I can gather, all of the OH models will eventually have the new opening hole.  It doesn't make much sense to make a specific blade for one model.

Uh, I forgot to say, I don;t have an opinion on it yet as I've had it for about an hour and for much of that Time I was playing Unreal Tournament!   :twak:

It is a nice sheath, sturdy leather with a velcro closure.  I like the sheath so far, but I haven't actually made use of it yet so I can't comment on that.
