Hello and salutations Bucktool enthousiasts.
I bought a strange Bucktool of interest.
It was an ebay-purchase from a collector.
It concerns the bucktool as pictured in the middle of the images below.
Let me summarize:
- the plierhead is black
- whilst the body is standard stainless
- it has no markings on both handles
- the pivot mount has the added bump like in later models as seen on my Harley and Camouflage versions.
- there is a lanyard hole instead of a philips
- the plierhead has 1 dot, just like my full black bucktool
- the pivot bolts have rounded tops instead of the regular flat tops. (4th image)
- the entire build and workings are the same as my other bucktools, it is legit.
- All tools exept for the lanyard hole are identical to the classic bucktool.

So what could this bucktool have been meant for? a rebrand? a special edition? WHAT A MYSTERY !!!  :D

Given the lack of markings on the handles I'm leaning towards a Buck employees custom, set up just the way they like.  Maybe there was a black plier head surplus to production requirements and they were given that to use for their project ?  Or possibly a prototype for internal use built to see how a different toolset (lanyard ring)  worked as an EDC.
