I see a 'How many forums does it take to change a lightbulb?' joke somewhere here.  :pok:

Sarge.

Had to be repeated. And for what its worth, this is definitely the friendliest forum I have yet been to.
(insert witty quote)

Don't forget chaps, we have our very own Flashlight forum and anyone is more than welcome to post their thoughts and reviews there.  I know I'd enjoy reading them. :tu:

Let me add to Gareth's thought:

I love flashlights, but know little about them. If someone had a basic primer on what is what in flashlights (and battery technology!)  I would LOVE it.

I have a hard time with the whole this bin, that bin emitter, whositz circuitry in the head, protected same sex cell battery info.

I don't even really have a clear idea about what makes one light "tactical" and another not. :ahhh

So, if someone had a basic primer for the light newbie, I'd seriously enjoy that.

Thanks. :)

That's a nice idea, I'd especially like someone to do a guide to some of the common emitters and their defining characteristics.  :tu:

"Tactical" is like "Gourmet."  It doesn't mean anything beyond the ability to charge at least 30% extra for the same product.

And then some.  The tactical knife industry is huge nowadays, and it's not just mall ninjas that buy them.

I don't use it so much really, mostly CPFMP.

Folks can be a bunch of damnright rude, sexist a-holes over there sometimes, but then I'm spoilt by this place  :dd:

I'll send you some nice feathers and fluffy things to glue on all your knives, multitools and flashlights

:twak: :D

As for that Maratac AAA.... awww, it's so cute!

I just picked up a Jetbeam TC-R2 Ti so I am currently replete in my flashlight needs ;)

I always got lost over there at CPF, even in 2008 when looking to upgrade my old Surefire and Tekna EDC lights. Registered but never posted. Its a V1DA Lux emitter with a Nx1D3 optic and PacMan UI behind two RCR357 silver tonque batteries with the plasmatic poo inverter and a stuck in reverse clickie and Ti exoskeleton. And if you don't have that, you don't have crap, mister newbie  fellow guy, ok?

All joking aside, I wish CPF well, and a speedy recovery.  :) Pun intended
Yeah, you right...

Thanks Babe, its such a cute way ya typed that. Can ya now go Iron something and let the men talk?

Ohhhhh Crap My wife saw me type that and I am now dead.

But in all seriousness. I love it here. People are very real and actually dont care about the ages, sexes and the knowledge people have. We jsut like to talk about sharp stuff and tools. When Babyhawkchucker first logged on at 7 she was actually asked relevant questions of how she uses her tools, and she was even asked how she felt with me sawing off the blades. So ya it is a Very different place here reguardless on everyones personalities there is a great level of respect that everyone shows the fellow forumites.

What's kind of sad is that the post count shown before you hit the forum pages
is old eg: 200,000 posts and only one or two pages have been recovered so far?
I guess they ended up losing lots, all those reviews and such.  Looks like pretty
much a complete redo.
