I was wondering what the members think about blade styles.  This probally has been done before so I apologize if my efforts are pointless. :)

Personally, I prefer the tanto blade.  It is easy to sharpen and it will do the job everytime.  That is not to say it is "perfect" for every task one could use a blade for.

My preference runs to the spear point,I feel it has more utility, and less likely to draw negative attention from the sheeple.

Spearpoint here also...I guess a Delica would be considered a spearpoint right?

Yeah it's a spear point, well sort off :D

Yep I voted for the spearpoint, I finer general purpose blade design has yet to be invented in my humble opinion :)

The perfect blade is sort of myth.  I believe that there is no "perfect" blade.  My resoning for this is that there is no one blade that can handle absolutely everything perfectly.  The blade is either too thick, thin, angular, etc.  The victorinox spearpoint SAK blade is great for everything except very heavy cutting jobs where you need a thicker blade with more belly to the blade.  The "tactical" thicker type blades are great for heavy cutting duties but dont do precision work very well.

The wharncliff blade is way underrated. As a utility type blade it definately has its strong points.

It is a very good design, great for precise cut's, but still a little weak in the tip for my liking :)

Well now that you've got me started about Wharncliffes, I might as well hijack this thread completely..... ;)

My favorite Wharncliffe is this custom retrofit that member knife-man did on his Leatherman Wave:

That is a really cool knife blade.  My uncle was a knife maker and he used to make a lot of knives with filework designs of vaious patterns.  He also used to carve the antler handles into eagles heads and all sorts of other shapes.
