So, in the Craftsman thread there was mention of using a chisel. For those of us with a SAK that has one, do you use it? I don't think I've ever used the chisel in my Ranger despite it having once been my carry SAK for several years.

Do people actually find them useful, or are they in the same class as the hook?

Hi,

Well I just posted a second use of it in the Craftsman thread that I started.  Despite the two prying jobs I have actually used it to chisel wood. Being in the custom woodworking business it was bound to come up.  Now it is nothing like using  a real wood chisel but the size and short length does come in handy once in a while.

I have also used it to pare down plastic pieces.

I used the chisel on my SwissTool a couple of days ago! Had to remove some excess plaster/cement from a door sill. It worked well :tu:
Of course, it's a bit bigger than the one on a SAK, but still.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

I've used it a few times for scraping and it's worked well.  I like it as it does not take up a lot of room.  I like the Ranger because it comes packed solid with tools.
