I need help finding a tool!
on: March 30, 2011, 07:53:28 PM
So, by trade I work on networks... both wiring them and managing them.  I'd like to have a tool that would allow me to cut the cables & cable ties as well as punch the cable, trim and even terminate the ends (with RJ-45's).  I can understand their being an issue with cutting the cable and crimping the cable with the same tool, unless the cutting edge is below the pivot point on the pliers.  Though something to consider is the fact that all crimping tools incorporate the crimping location below the pivot point.  There would definitely be some engineering to make it work good.

What I'm wondering is if one of these tools already exists, my searching has come up empty.  Below are some examples of tools I'm looking to combine.

Crimpers:

Punch Tools:

Anyway, any information would be helpful, even if the tool only punched and cut cable it'd be a help.

Thanks!

No offense to anyone, but I really think "Welcome to MT.O, where we know about multitools" is a fantastic slogan!  :multi:

XoVoX if you are still reading this thread, you are witnessing another MT.O tradition: getting off topic.

We know about multitools makes about as much of an impact as McDonalds having "We make burgers & fries" as their slogan.  :P

Of course I'm always open to slogan ideas, so if folks have any other suggestions, I'm listening.  Of course this is just another example of how things get off topic here... :P
