It seems there are some differences between the regular red farmers. If I compare my regular with the "dark red" I can see a difference.

Here is some Red Alox.  The one in the center is the new numbered Farmer.  The darker shade is subtle compared to recent alox, but I'll add nicely subtly darker!  :D

Quite a difference compared to some older Alox.

I honestly cannot tell the difference between the red on the three on the right. The Farmer 2nd from the right looks more orange. Actually, even the Omega watch opener knife looks the same shade as the other 3.  ???
Let us therefore open the book of Nature and read in her records.

Yes it's sutble as I said, but I like it.  There is a slight batch difference in many of the Alox runs, so you may be able to find an even closer match.  In any case it's a red Farmer with Victorinox sheild, so the special aspect of it is really the numbered blade and that it's production is known to be in 2011 which might be nice for special events this year.

Not all Swiss-Cross alox is so orange also, just the really well ripened ones.

Ripened! I like it!

I think what is really neat about it is that in all likelihood another run like it will never happen. Even if another dark red alox Farmer is done, I'm thinking the color will actually be deeper and this one will prove even more special.

Difference is quite obvious in these images I think. Its certainly not massively different, but a good few shades.

Certainly looks the same. I was expecting a maroon or cherry red.

Ok,

Where did the numbered Red Farmers come from?  I'm missing that one  :(

I have the old style cross with no keyring and the standard red Farmer, but not the numbered Dark Red one...

Are they coming to a Catman near us?

I seem to have missed something.  Who is selling the red numbered Farmers?  And, other colors are coming??  I guess I missed the memo...

You both should check out SwissBianco (website, facebook, youtube)
Roger has lots of new alox planned this year.
His new alox Bushcrafter and Lumberjack are still available.
There is lots of info out there on other sites if you look.

Thanks.  I do get Roger's newsletter and have both silver Alox Bushcrafter and Lumberjack on the way.  I was just surprised that forum members already had received the dark red Farmers and I hadn't even heard about them.  Must be slipping.
