Not to make light of it, but the guy with the megaphone sounds like he's calling a sporting event!  "And the white Toyota is the only one left on the top shelf, but the blue Subaru is holding on!"

Tragic indeed, and I'm not trying to take anything away from the obvious devastation and raw power of the water, but the guy just made me laugh.
