well that must be the rescue tool's granddad. also, must've been used for serious pruning.

That's a cool knife :)

Are you sure it's old? I've seen that model for sale somewhere over here!

The frame for this knife feels very robust.

Hi
Wow!!, fantastic.
I wonder if this design is for more blades, It is a lovely find, Grafting tool , hawkbills is used on alot of different stuff.

That's what I'm thinking, if you ever see any other blades you know I'd be interested in them.  Yes, not sure the use on this one yet, put I pulled so much old material from between the scales I can tell you it's been heavily used, and the handles and frame have stood up very well.  It seems like it was made to last several life times, and it would be a work knife (maybe industrial) so the replaceable blade option would make sense, if not addtional sizes as well.  It seems the replaceable disc-saw on the Rescue Tool does have some historical connection.

I was not going to get too close to the extracted material, but it could have been used in horticulture or skinning, seemed like they might have been a fair amount of hair content; it was all a light brown in color.

That's a cool knife :)

Well it's had a lot of use, but the Victoria tang stamp with the unique House symbol is the obvious indication of it's age, but it also has a carbon steel backspring which I think removes all doubt that it is very old.

Yes it is, there are whole toolsets of these like the one below. I got offered one for $25 a year ago but being the fool I am, I refused. :brickwall:

I don't know, '50. - '60. maybe. There are a few Imperial ones floating around on eBay. CLICKY

And a modern version of it CLICKY

When I asked around about them on another forum a year ago the answer was: "We don't know, go ask on the Multitool.org". So someone here with better knowledge will definitely pop in sooner or later.  :salute:
