Greetings from India
on: April 15, 2011, 07:42:21 AM
Hello Everyone,

My real name is Amarendra, and I am from the city of Pune from the western region of India. I have been a Spyderco, and Arc flashlight fan. Recently, before putting an order for the Piranha one-piece tool, I read many reviews on this site, and was impressed at the details, and quality. Decided to join, and here is my first post.

I am a professional paranoid, and have a day job as a software security engineer, in addition to a knife, multi-tool and flashlight hobby. Have about 6 Spydies, a couple of SAKs', Gerber Diesel, and a bunch of LM tools. :-)  :D

This is called a Swiss Army Knife. Do you know what Switzerland is? Switzerland is a place where they don't like to fight, so they get people to do their fighting for them while they ski and eat chocolate. - Larry David

Taking the liberty to thank you all, while responding to MultiMat. I have the Leatherman e33l knife -- my first ever "quality" knife, and hence dear to me. I had a Squirt too, but it has now found a home with a good friend.

I started my MT hobby with a SAK back in 2000 - I don't even remember the name of this SAK, but it is full-sized, and does not have a cork-opener. Messed around with it when I put in a hot water pot to clean, and one red handle detached.  :bnghd: My knife hobby started with the e33l - a real good knife. Soon followed Benchmade, Kershaw, Spyderco, and have more or less settled with Spyderco. The Byrdwrench is on order. , and the Gerber Diesel lives in my car.

I am also hooked to flashlights, having owned several Arcs, Peaks, Quarks, Nitecores, Romisen, and the legendary Maglite. These days I prefer "commonly available" battery types (AAA/AA) to other speciality types, and EDC a Peak LED Eiger, along with a Spyderco Ladybug, and an Arc AAA-UV on the keyring. Right pocket is the Spyderco Sage II, and hopefully the Byrdwrench.

My wife thinks I am a nut, and feels my trouser is going to fall down my legs due to the sheer weight of tools. Haha. :ahhh

Other forums I visit are: bf, spyderco forums, cpf, cpfmp, and jd. Nice to see such a warm welcome folks. I am sure to have a rocking time here.
